HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We want to see your best character description for either a fiction or a nonfiction piece.
Your entry may be up to 150 words in length. Send as many entries as you wish.
This is a simple, cash-prize, writing contest open to
the public.
- 1 Grand Prize: $250
- 1 First Prize: $100
- 1 Second Prize: $50
- 10 Third prizes: $25 each.
- 50 Honorable Mention Prizes
- All winners will be announced on WritingForMoney.com,
and top winning entries will be published on the WfM site.
To enter, send each entry on a single sheet of paper
(no handwritten entries will be considered). If you
send more than one entry, please mail them all in the same
envelope and be sure to include your:
- Name
- Mailing address
- Email address
Make sure that your contact information appears on your entry, not just on a cover letter or the envelope you sent it in.
ENTRY FEE: $10 (check or money order made out to Writing
for Money) for each entry you send.
NOTE: Entrants retain all rights, but must agree to allow
Writing for Money to publish their entries as part of the
contest or the promotion thereof. Entries will be judged
by the editors of Writing for Money.
